Gavin Harrison 'Win, Fame and Fortune'

Firstly, Keep Calm Gallery is pleased to introduce the work of artist Gavin Harrison. He started his career in illustration, switching to photography twelve years ago, working for clients internationally. Lucky for us Gavin has been developing more personal projects that combine all mediums he has previously worked in, drawing, painting, montage and photography. We are very excited to present Gavin's first ever limited edition prints! The idea for 'Win Fame and Fortune' came while shopping at a Flea market in Spain Gavin found a treasure trove of old magazines. He snapped them up and after a few attempts arrived at this montage combining Spanish and very British images. The format of follows that of a magazine, images are torn away like pages to reveal the image beneath. In some strange surreal way all the different layers reveal images and words that seem to work and make sense in the way that montage does. The idea for the 'Food For Thought' (below) came after Gavin was given a collection of old 1930s/40s recipe books. The food was illustrated in such an enticing way it was great subject matter. Because food is such a central part of our life's and never far from our thoughts, it just seemed a great theme to develop via the medium of montage. Both of these prints are 16.2 x 23.4 inch giclees with an edition size of 50 that come signed and numbered by the artist on Hahnemühle etching paper for $63.49 each. Check it out HERE
