A few nights ago at the Montage Beverly Hills for Sean Penn's Help Haiti Home Gala, musician Chris Martin bought a $650,000 painting on wood of a heart shaped balloon painted by the British street artist Banksy. The Coldplay member and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow were amongst the attendees of this superstar-packed event. Chris Martin went home with the 39 x 48 inches original painting on wood. This 'Heart Balloon' canvas is a newer updated version of the New York City's street piece which appeared in October 2013 during Banksy's month long residency 'Better Out Than In'

Today's Banksy's was purchased from this Housing Works shop 3 months ago modified and signed by the artist and then re-donated back to the very place it was originally purchased. The painting was on display for many hours until they received an anonymous phone call telling them what they had. :)

Today's Banksy's is pretty funny. If you want to see it before it gets buffed or has a roller installed over it, this is located in Coney Island at 2812 Stillwell Avenue at Neptune. If you google the barcode number it comes up as a reference to Homosapiens. Very clever B.
I am loving the backlash to the New York Times piece, you know you struck a chord when all of New York's papers shit on you for your opinion. Just remember it is B-A-N-S-K-Y not BANSKY, hahaha
