Here is a NEW Banksy piece called 'If Graffiti Changed Anything - It Would Be Illegal' that was done this past weekend on Clipstone St in Fitzrovia. I am very surprised that there has NOT been any royal wedding inspired pieces by the man himself. Awesome close up below.
I love it!! Banksy's genius shines through again having chosen the perfect place (years ago) for one of his murals. In Stokes Croft that last few days there have been some quite violent clashes with the local neighbourhood folks NOT backing down from the Police. There is a heavy amount of dissention aimed at the idea of a Tesco Express invading their neighbourhood. The photos below illustrate some of the heavier moments. As you can see in the photo second from the bottom that the crowd eventually reached their goal... Is that also a Snow White I see to the left in the photo below? Hmmm, how did that? Looks Dolk(ish)
...and trashed the Tesco. Lesson learned? Time will tell.
Here is the next release from artist Mr Brainwash. This is an homage piece to Banksy's quest to win an Academy Award at this years OSCAR'S for the documentary 'Exit Through The Gift Shop'. This is a 6 colour 22 x 30 inch screenprint with gold ink and gloss varnish with an edition size of 83, comes thumb printed, signed and numbered by the artist for $450 each. $450! WTF? Seriously????? This will be available at 3pm EST on Monday Aril 11th

So, this week there has been a lot of brew haha about artist Banksy being photographed (again?!). So it got me thinking... Here are some other photographs that claim to be Banksy. Below is the hippie dude from the Glastonbury stunt, notice the font on the board is definitely Banksy-esque. Hmmm...
So the two dudes above kinda sorta look a bit alike right? But they too are NOT HIM. The one below is the image we keep seeing in all the tabloids telling us Banksy's real name is Robin Gunningham. Below that is what is suspected to be Banksy in the background of the video for Modern Multiples videos showing them destroying all proofs and films for their session. But he is not wearing glasses, so I think this is NOT HIM. During the video you do hear Duardo say outloud "it has been great having Robin here this week" (or something similar in nature). Hmmm...
Dude above looks a lot like the dude leaning over from all the tabloids, but maybe 10 years younger. Which would make sense based on the subject matter on the wall that he is working on. A few random thoughts, is Banksy maybe a small group of artists? Can't be, can it? I asked a fellow Bristol artist recently if a street graffiti piece in Los Angeles was his and he informed me it was indeed Banky's piece and that Banksy was and has been living in Hollywood for a while now! Hmmm, seems strange he is living in Thierry & Shepard's backyards... But, here is the most confusing part of all. Below is a shitty cell phone pick catching Banksy?? in the act on the streets of London, BUT he is NOT wearing glasses, this image below is NOT HIM!
WTF? I give up! For now!
Pictures On Walls has confirmed that Oleg Vorotnikov and Leonid Nikolaev from Russian art group VOINA have finally been released on bail. P.O.W: "In December, Oleg and Loenid were arrested for making some pretty racy public art pieces. After spending three and a half months in a St. Petersberg jail infested with scurvey and TB we're delighted to report that the pair have just been released. Officials at their court hearing were apparently unaware more than 400 punters had bought a Banksy print and the proceeds had been transferred over. A judge set bail at 600,000 roubles (a pretty unattainable amount for the average Russian) but they were able to produce all the cash on the spot and the pair walked free."
Thanks Banksy!
